Missionary Information

The following is a partial listing of current or retired missionaries with whom Pennwood has partnered to share Christ.

Because of sensitive issues and countries served, some missionaries have asked that they information not be

shared on the website.  Please be in prayer for those who have invested their lives to take the

gospel message to people and places that we are unable to do personally.

  • Julia Garst (retired)

  • Andy Maples (USA - New Life Bible Camp)

In April 1990, Andy Maples came to New Life Bible Camp to help finish work on the new gym. The original plan was to stay for 2 weeks.  That was over 25 years ago.  Andy's responsibilities at camp include leading worship, speaking during the evening meetings of summer camp, developing the summer camp small group Bible Studies, and finding ways to use his musical and speaking abilities to minister to the many local churches in the area surrounding Buffalo Mills, PA.

He earned a Bachelor's and Master’s degree in Theology through Trinity College and Seminary and a Master of Divinity degree through Christian Biblical Institute. He is currently working towards a PhD in Bible through Andersonville Theological Seminary in Andersonville GA.  Andy has a deep and abiding passion for worship leading, songwriting, teaching the Bible and acoustic guitar music, but mainly finding ways to impact youth and adults through Christian camping.

  • Don & Zoe Peffer (Brazil and USA)

The Peffer's ministry is Discipleship and Maintenance. They spend seven months a year (October-April) in Brazil.  They are helping a Pastor (Adalberto) in a "second generation" Church plant in Liberdade (Liberty) neighborhood.  Don shares some of the preaching and works on the construction of the Sunday School building.  Zoe works with the ladies and Sunday School teachers.

They spend five months (May-September) in Pennsylvania working with Ready Yourselves Youth Ranch (RYYR.org).  This is an evangelical ministry that has a mentoring program using horses to help youth going through struggles or difficult times.  Zoe has several sessions a week with kids.  Don works mostly outside with general maintenance chores like stacking hay, spreading manure, mowing fields and fixing fences.  He also does improvement projects (stalls for mini horses, a run-in and fencing new pastures).

The Rosas are serving the Lord in the church of Mataro (a city near Barcelona) since 2008.  They went there to help the pastor.  But in 2012, when the pastor left, Manuel was asked to become the pastor and has since been in that position.

They are involved in the work of evangelization through children'youth ministries, family retreats, tract distribution, conferences and Bible studies.  This is in addition to preaching and teaching in weekly church services.

Manuel's family is also involved in many aspects of the ministry.  His wife Francina, Manel, Francina Eunice, Rut and there married daughter Maria (David) are important in the continuing work of God in Mataro.
